    Default h22a4 v tec problems!!!!

I have a 98 prelude with h22a4 engine and my v tec is not kicking in Like it should. Also sometimes at idle my oil light will start flashing off and on really fast. I believe it is the v tec cylinoid. Any thoughts are appreciated

UMM, light comes on because the pressure is dropping way to low.. First check the oil level, then change the oil + (check connection on sending unit), if those don't work you will need to check the oil pressure with a guage(low pressure means bad oil pump), If you don't know how then have a shop check it.. Don't drive it with that light on and off, you will only kill the motor..lol, just my 2 cents!!

pan shouldnt be dented, its an aluminum pan. check your oil level. you oil pick up might be clogged or your oil pump is going bad. but i would start with checking oil level.

Your probably low on oil, seriously if your a matter of more than a few drops low ive seen it throw the solenoid code, and you can pull your carpet back on the passenger side floor board and see what codes the ecu is throwing

I took it to advance and they said it could be a v tec cylinoid fault or oil passage blocked ill check my oil the other day and thought it looked good but ill check it in the morning and if its not completely full ill add some and let u know what happens. I recently had a valve job done on it and I also got charged for him changing the oil but he may not have and just screwed me over a little bit on it ill get back on tomorrow and let u know though. Thanks man

Pour Some Marvel Mystery Oil in it from autozone, works like a charm

whats that supposed to mean ? its a strong engine detergent , not only does it clean all the gunk and carbon deposits out of your oil but will clean the shittt out of the inside of that solenoid
