    Default what head is this?

    so i dropped off a z6 head at dover wednesday, and it still wasnt finished, so they gave me one off the shelf.
    i know its missing the oil rail at the top of the head

    can anyone make positive ID on this head?

    Look and see if there is a casting number on the front face of it. If someone doesn't know it right off, that casting number will help. Should say P??

    Doesn't look like a Z6 head. Looks more like a Y7 head.

    JDM D15B is what I am finding.

    One other search pulled up Z6.

    its a z6. either early 90's si 5 speed or mid 90's ex auto head.

    Both of them came up when I Googled it. Wasn't sure which it was so I edited my last post.

    P08 is the same a Z6 head, there are no major differences

    That is a non vtec D head. The valvetrain is different so don't let anyone tell you it is a vtec head. It doesn't have the Lost motion assemblies or the assembly for them. But the orientation of the spark plug tubes tells me if it is a usdm head then it is in fact a d16y7 head.
