It's just consistent with the way the roads are set up.

They drive on the left sie of the road, therefore the driver's on the right.

We drive on the right side of the road, " " left.

Another tidbit, legal driving age is 18 vs. our 16.

    More tidbits?

It actually cost them around the eqivalent of 3000USD to obtian their license. Various licensing and road tests are reqired for the common motorist.

I think i like the acronym RSD better than RHD.

*Waiting for a "smart ass" member to come into the thread and make a contrary statement.

think about being in the right most lane and wanting to overake someone in a RHD car in the US... now flip the scenario and you have Japan

If you want the real answer look here. You have to read for a while before you get to Japan.

LOL in Germany you have to be 18 to legally drive, and have to pay 4 grand US money. But i would do all that jsut to go down the autobon at 150mph!

or get your license here in the US for about $15-20 USD and then go to Germany, Rent a Car, and go down the autoban either way works.
