I got a ticket on the way to the track. Youd assume speeding right? GA move over law. Cop had somebody pulled over around a curve. I was in right lane in the process of SPEEDING past a van. We all hit the brakes bc we were all speeding (about 80-90 in 70 zone) so needless to say, i was stuck next to the van bc we all slowed dwn.

I got close to the van to make room between me and the cop giving the ticket when i realized i couldnt get over but im not gonna side swipe the van.

There was another cop (theone that pulled me over) behind the one giving the ticket (the one i passed) waititng for someone to not move over which happen to be me. He said he didnt see me brake to a safe speed before passing him and the ticketing officer. (because you were in front of me when i hit the brakes dumbass. wtf is the point of braking after i pass you?)

He said i couldve sped up or slowed dwn to get over. (i was already speeding but i couldve floored it a blasted past with my wastegate wide open than moved over and see if that wouldve been acceptable. And considering they were pulled over in a right hand curve theres not much time to make all those adjustments b4 im already passing them. And i did hit the brakes but so did everybody else.)

He said i shouldve used my turn signal indicating i was trying to get over. (oh shit, move over law!! Hit brakes, maintain lane in curve, dnt get rearended by dude behind me though. van still next to me. I better let him know i tried to move over with this signal light. WTF ever.)

Looked it up and the fine is $500. They were doing that all day bc the cop is passed pulled up behind the one giving my a ticket and waited. probe passed in right lane, he goes and get them. Dude that got me pulls over a mtr cycle that passed the probe in the right lane.

i didnt even know he was pulling me over at first so i went left. he followed so im like ok? first wrds out of his mouth "did u see that officer on the side of the road?" Yeah, i tried to move over but there was a van next to me so i couldnt. "does ur turn signals and brakes not wrk?" If my brakes didnt wrk ud be chasing my dwn the hwy instead of asking a dumbass question. Given the circumstances, if he decided to go to court and calmly explain the situation, he has just as good a chance as any that it will be resolved in a more favorable manner than if he just bent over and sent in his $500 payment.

i understand things are slow and the govt needs money but im not gonna just cough up 500 bucks bc i wasnt able to move over and i ALWAYS do. because during that time my civic flipped those 3 times and i hit my head on the roof of the car before being snapped back to my seat...the seatbelt surely didn't save me from breaking my neck completely and dying....or being thrown out of the car and dying.

BTEC: You should seriously go in with a diagram, lil hot wheel cars & everything so that the judge can fully understand what happened. Or at least buy a disposable camera and do your presentation at home (with the hot wheel cars & drawing of the scenery...but also take real pics of the actual scene) and take pics to show the judge (make sure they are in order). He may actually be impressed that you went through that much trouble. I mean, if u win spending $20 is wayyy better than $500. He may throw it out or even reduce the charge. Or...maybe my idea is just gay & I want to play with toys.

Looking aorund for some stuff to help when i go to court on the 10th and found this. Exactly how i got caught but i wasnt able to see the 2 cops on the side of the road until i came over the hill and around the little curve which puts them damn near right next to me considering the speed limit was 70 mph.

im definitely going to fight it, i got alot of other things id rather spend $500 on instead of a "i couldnt move over" ticket. The only thing is i dont remember the exact location of where they were sitting considering it was the side of 75 south, abouth 15mins north of 475. I didnt think to look at the next exit that was in front of me due to maximum pissosity. But i know exactly how the cops were on the side of the road and around the curve, i just have to figure out how to present it to the judge and hope its not a "im not trying to hear it" type.

I actually callled the regular guys and they told me to use hot wheels cars too. lol!! I got some zip zap cars, the carrying case, the track with the cones so that might be good enough. Lol!!

Thanks for the comments everybody. I mean i used to get speeding tickets all the time and complain about paying 3 and 4 hundred dollar tickets til i realized, i did it to myself. Ill keep yawl posted on my presentation and outcome when i get back from court. i got a couple weeks to put something together.
