Default Amp recommended for two 12w3-d6 JL audio subs?

a guy from my shop gave me 2 12w3-d6 subs and a box, ive been out of audio stuff for a while and i never really knew all the technical stuff about audio work, just how to hook it up..i was wanting to know what kinda of amp i would want to get for this, 1 or 2 channel?, how many watts, and all that. he currently has them wired like this below, except each speaker goes to its own + terminal on the box and its own negative terminal, totaling in 4 box terminals

    here is my current wiring

should i do that or rewire it this way and look for an amp with these wiring settings?

if this ad i found is the same speaker here is all the info, it looks the same and has the same name, so im assuming it is.....haha
