    Default swap questions

ok i am planning on peiceing together a b20 vctec swap for my ef...

    1. how long can an engine sit before it starts becoming unreliable?
    2. will and bseries parts bolt up to a b20, like gsr trans/ head?
    3. also if i'm planning boost would it be better to not go vtec and get like an LS head for it?

All b series trannys will work. The vtec head will work but you need to do a ls/vtec-b20/vtec conversion. I say go with golden eagle.

What do you mean how long can it sit? Is it covered? Keep oil in it and the plugs and you should be fine.

You have to tap the oil feed hole in the head and plug it. Then you use the sandwich plate that comes with the kit and put it behind you oil filter. The new oil feed line hooks up to the sandwich plate and you run it to your head where you remove a plug. The dowel pins are also different sizes. It is easiest to use the golden eagle kit since it comes with everything including the tap, plug, dowel pins, sandwich plate, head gasket, oil line, and instructions. The cheapest place i found the kit was on Honda-tech for 200 shipped. You will also need different radiator hoses. It is also recommended to use arp head studs or at least ls or b20 head bolts since the vtec ones are shorter. All the ls head bolts are the same except for the two center ones which are longer, you need to replace them with shorter ones that match the rest.

beware the b20 vtec.... torquey but very unreliable. and if u plannin to go boost with it, its gong to blow pretty soon considerin the fact that it has weak cylinder walls.
