Default Now that the money is coming in right...

I'm trying to decide what to do. I am having an opportunity to do what I've always wanted to do. Own a Porsche. Now I'm an old school fool and I love the old school Porsches. I've been eyeing a 1983 Porsche 924S for about 17 years now. Dude bought it brand new in 83 and he never drives it. I have heard the car run and even rode with him in it a few weeks ago.

Now here is the dilemma. I want to fix my CVCC also. It'll be a couple of thousand dollars cheaper to fix the CVCC, but I've always wanted a Porsche(ever since this 924 was brand new). I know not what to do. Later, QD.

thats really a tough choice, both cars look great.

but if it were me, i'd go with the car you've wanted for 17 years, even though i want to see your CVCC roll up to one of the EF meets...

See if I do both, I can fix the CVCC for about $500 if I keep it stock engine. I may go that route. Later, QD.

turbo? We just got rid of our 924s and correct me if im wrong the 924s was only available in NA. The turbo model was the 944. I really did love the 924. It was an amazing car for what it was. And on the highway........SEX. With wheels and suspension mods it would be one hell of a BANG FOR THE BUCK, but to maintain it i found to be just too much. Timing belts every 40k, adjusting the belt like every two oil changes, $1000 clutches....and thats cheap, etc. Thats the price you pay.

    944

The 944 is a little more full bodied than the 924. Later, QD.

I have a 1980 928 V8 5 speed sitting at my shop right now as we speak. I'm waiting for some parts to come in, but it runs. Well, I just got it back running. It's been at our shop for a while and I'm not sure if the owner wants to sell it or not. If you're really interested, PM me. This V8 sounds like a mix between a Mercedez and a and an SBC. It's pretty nice. It needs to be restored, but you'll like it.

    EDIT; It's a grey market Porcshe 928 S

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

to me its not a porsche unless the engine is in the back....i really like the cvcc, its very original. i would really like to see it fixed up with nice wheels, suspension, and a b series in it. man that thing would be awesome. i think you could always find another porsche down the road, you see them a lot more. your the only person i know with a cvcc, especially in that good of condition. HONDA POWER SON! lol

how much would it cost to get the porsche where you want it? You also have to weigh that in with the price of the car. But if thats your dream car, get it, restore it and keep it in good shape.

If you want a Porsche don't get a 924! The 924 was like a beta 944/951, the 944/951 is a better all around car. I have driven both and would never buy a 924. Save up or do what you got to do, I think you would regret buying the 924.
