YES!!! Did you let them know? An incident should have been filled out....Time, place, location, what you were doing, area affected on your body...

Cover it for what? Are you okay?

You should get a tetanus shot, that's about it.

It's not an uncommon rule to report all injuries on the job to your immediate supervisor. Can't believe you've never heard of that. Later, QD.

I kinda figured he would have already told his boss about it at some point before sitting down to make a thread.

Just wondering what he needs to have covered... is he going to the hospital? Getting a tetanus shot? Or is it a small injury that he doesn't intend to have treated. If you require treatment, yes, it should be covered. If you don't, of course make sure the injury is noted in case it gets worse.

I did not in any way say or infer that I had never heard of reporting an injury to your supervisor. I would hope he had done that before getting online to ask a bunch of strangers what to do.

Depends on whether or not your boss is in the WC program. Definitely report it to him. Remember(and this goes to those who have no clue):

ALWAYS REPORT ANY INJURY YOU SUSTAIN ON THE JOB TO YOUR IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR!!!!!

If you don't, and you do qualify for WC, they can turn that shit down instantly. Later, QD.

It's your foot and your possible compensation. So hang around and keep posting about what you should do and then turn around and not take anyone's advice. Later, QD.

I bet i probably know more about WC then anyone else on here, unless you work for a WC insurance company.

First, you need to go ask your boss or HR person where the list/board of WC covered physicians is, usually in a break room or other easy access/high traffic area around your work. There must be at least 6 doctors on it, some of them hand/foot specialists. Go see one of them. If there is no posted board with the doctors you can go see, you can go to ANY doctor you want and the HAVE to cover it per employer negligence.

You will NOT get any pay compensation other then submitting for mileage driven to the doc. and perscription receipt submissions. If the doctor determines you can not work for 1 week, you will not get payed. ONLY if you are out of work for more then 2 weeks, then starting on the 15st day of absence will you get back pay for the first 2 weeks.

For a basic injury, WC will cover initial doc. visit and and medicines you need to treat, therapy if needed.

I went through all this shit when i worked for Toyota Mall of Ga and it was a fucking nightmare. But if its no big deal, and you dont want to contribute to the "i hurt myself at work and now i demand money because im a lazy american", then just go to the doc, do what he says and get back to work asap.

There's not really anything to know more about than what anyone else would know that has worked for a company with WC and pays any attention. I know just as much as you do except I just post the direct route that he should go. His boss will direct him from there. What I posted was exactly what he should do. It's the same thing anyone would be told at a "Safety Meeting" at their job. Later, QD.

well, in my case at least, my job horrably FAILED at helping/directing me on what to do with my injury.....they (literally) only made my injury worse and cost themselves more money by not getting the information i needed to get my surgery.

They might want to screen you for drugs if you do file a claim.

That's usually a requirement of either your job or the WC clinic.
