i just got my v1se in today. 60 sq. feet and dad picked a heat gun on the way from home depot. i wanna get this shiznit in my car. you have a hatch and have 20 left over, so i'm guessing that my sedan should need all of 60. got any other pointers for a 1st timer? how long did it take you? is a heat gun really needed? i don't see any faqs on hondatech on removing the carpet. did you have help?

i was replacing my carpet anyway that day so i had to take it out. you have to take everything out including the seats and center console. the carpet toward the center console was held in my pins that just come off but in some of the other spots they glued the carpet down. it just depends on how the civic is set up. you dont need a heatgun, at least i didnt use one. just get a roller and roll on. it took me with replacing the new carpet about 5 hours and thats because the carpet had to be cut and fitted. putting down the edead wasnt hard at all, the most time it takes is to take the carpet out.

believe it or not, i STILL haven't installed the eD. i have good reason though.

i realized that only my doors really rattle (and i haven't even put the components in yet) the only part of my trunk that rattles is the black plastic piece on the trunk lid that holds the license plate. i figure most hondas are like this.

rather than waste eD on something that doesn't rattle, i wanted to somehow get the plastic piece off and just insulate the area behind it + the license plate. when i tried removing it a few weeks ago, i noticed that something was holding it down near the trunk's key hole.how do you remove this thing?

p.s.- my car will be washed. don't even worry about it.

um, ok. so does anyone know how to remove this piece or what? the second pic is of what i THINK is holding it down. i don't want to mess with it and end up breaking something.

yah, the piece came off easily. i'll put some there, maybe it'll help the small amount of rattle.
