Thread: am i in the wrong???

    Default am i in the wrong???

    ... ok here's the deal..

    i work out of my boss's home... he has a german shephard and his gf has a schnauzer(spl?)...

    well last week her dog got out of the fence... i stopped by my boss's house to drop off a steam cleaner i had borrowed... they mentioned the dog was missing (gated community by the way...) so me being helpful i told him i'd go look for the dog.... and i found it...

    this weekend my boss had a party... normally has a bar made of folding tables....

    i come back to work this week and there was a folded table leaning on the gate that i come into... my assumption is... "oh, yeah john had a party must have left the table out" so i slide the table away so i can open the gate... again this is where i come in to work everday.. and leave from quite often as well.. because coming through the house to my office sucks because my pup tries to play with my bosses german shephard... so to avoid that i walk around the house downtairs and to this gate...

    well this morning the table is flat on the ground, knocked over and in the way.. i move it again and go on inside and proceed to work...

    my boss beeps me and complains cause i didn't make a call to one of our clients, i apologize cause i didn't realize i needed to call a client that my co-worker has been dealing with this client since day one.(another stupid thing to get griped at about and i feel i shouldn't have) so while he's ranting.. he asks me if i moved the table... i openly said "yes, why?" he then gets pissy and says... U didn't even question yourself about why it was there???.... i said nope, figured it was from your party and u just didn't put it up... (which i think is an extremely logical reason for a table to be outside) he then starts bitching about how he spent 2 hours outside looking for the schnauzer that it had gotten out again and that i'm not to move this table... first off i do not believe for one second he spent 2 hrs outside... because when i went looking for the dog it took me ten minutes to find it.. and they didnt even bother going out to look for it that night. so why would he this night????

    so.. am i in the wrong for either of those??? and shouldn't he be a little less pissed about it.. considering i took time out of my own personal life.. to look for a dog i don't even know. and found it for him...????

    I totally understand were your coming from. My boss flipped out on me this morning cause the bathroom had piss everywhere, customers like to piss everywhere. go figure. and I did not know a customer had used it. I usually clean it every time one goes in there. cause thats nasty. But anyway

    Just let it go.

    But that's what unfortunately happens when you work so closely with someone. You are not just an employee or a coworker but someone in their house every day and there isn't as much of a division. Sometimes it's best to leave work at work.

    Yeah just let it go theres nothing you can do to improve the situation. He will get over it or not, but if he is a good boss it shouldnt affect how he is at work with you.
