prolly close to 190hp or even over that ..... if you dont have a lead foot and keep it maintaind (sp) it will last for over 4 years if kept and or bought in great shape

It should be fine up until 250whp(no more) with a good tune.Originally Posted by bikerj11

Make sure you have a spare block...b18c(upgrade).haha.
Just start building a block on the side just in case something happens.
Boost under slow construction...
i boosted my b16 on 6 psi and it made 212. get a good tune and do not use a fmu or a hack, trust me i know. i ran mine on a fmu for alittle over a year and then a afc hack. i got it tuned with chrome and i thought i could beat the sh!t out of it and BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!
thats wat his hatch is tuned on is chrome
FL
its all tuned and all fuel stuff done..550injecters ,aem fuel rail...etc...guy told me 270fwhp
Sounds good, Just dont beat on it all the time and it will last.Originally Posted by bikerj11

i dont know if it being a turbo will affect it, but my buddie just had a 99 Si with a jackson racing SC in the shop cuz the motor blew. and those are pretty low boost. i would build it just for piece of mind.
the OP got rid of this car a while ago

y that was dumb who did he trade
the guy he traded for the hatch u got, he traded ur hatch for his old mustang back bc the black hatch got broken into
FL
yea i no that but y would he have traded my old cause it got broken into. do u no who has it now
^^ yea the guy that traded him the white hatch in the first place. pm bikerj11 he will tell u what his name is and screename
FL
o he called me wanting to trade that mustang for the hatch also
I dont get it - "Dont beat on it and it will last"...
Whats the point of building something that'll blow up if you beat on it?
I think what they meen by "dont beat it" is running higher boost on a stock b series motor, since they have weak pistons that dont really like boost... All motors are diff, its all in how you take care of them..
The EMPIRE
Heck, then toss out the ***** pistons and throw some forged bad boys in there.
And then beat on it! Only way to do it!
Well we know how that story goes.
And then the fuel system needs an upgrade, and then you need an intercooler, and then you need a bigger 2 stage oil pump, and then you need a better tranny, and then you need a stronger block... wait I just went broke with the pistons...
i got a buddy who's got a boosted b16 in a hatch. he got 237 to the wheels on 7psi. i'm sure with the normal upgrades such as injectors, etc.
yeah, compression has a big part in this as does a great tune. but id say no more than 10-12 on a good tune but id stick with the latter. they have an exellent stroke to rod ratio of all the b series motors. but oem limitations are exactly that limits. i run a b20 thin ass sleeve block on 8 psi tunned by scotty at mainstream and made 258.71 whp and have recently bumped to 10psi again and have run this set up for over 4 years now. but like i said i got 8:8:1 compression too! all engines have a service life, some short some long...
LET ME GUESS... YOU MISSED A GEAR!
