Default Forged Performance: Another Monster GT-R Revealed

This is the first of three very large scale builds coming out of Forged Performance in the coming weeks. Builds like this always capture everyone’s attention and imagination and involved much more than just power adders. Everything has be customized exactly to the owner’s liking and the end result it very tasteful, artistic, yet brutally powerful. Todd, a long time customer and friend of the shop came to us a while ago with plans to further upgrade his GT-R. He previously had a stock block, HKS GT800 setup with a mild transmission upgrade. It was quickly decided that more power was desired and the HKS kit would not be sufficient to get the job finished. This is without a question one of the more exciting builds we have had the pleasure to work on. No expense was spared on this project. Todd decided on our 4.0L FP1R reinforced shortblock and FP1R head package as the heart of the build. This time around we went with the JUN Billet Wheel GTX35R turbo kit with a goal of over 1200 whp. To support this power we went with our in-house prepared Stage 4 transmission build using a full PPG 1-6 gear set and Dodson ProMax clutch assembly, and countless seals, bits, and small parts. Todd added countless additional parts along the way which really turned this project from a basic high hp build into a very special project. This beast is now up and running and we will be tuning this week. We will update this thread with power numbers as soon as we can but we are shooting for 1200whp+. Modification list and pictures below!

The owner is back in Miami now, but he was here yesterday. I think he was out cruising around for some break-in miles. If it almost sounded....supercharged lol then it was most likely him. The Dodson Pro Max Clutch System has a loud whine that sounds like a Vortech Blower hah

Those HREs look about the same as the most hated wheel on the street right now, curious to see if the wheel whores insult these too or if the price tag wins their favor.

they kinda do to me. the HREs look better, clearly. I'm just always baffled by how harsh of critics people are to the replica wheels when the replica wheels are *attempting* to follow in the foot steps of the top shelf wheel companies in regards to appearance at least.

not too hijack the thread, but i think if you drive a First Class car you put first class wheels on it. Its just that simple.

XXR 527 are cheap, heavy, weak wheels but they aren't replicas of any other wheel that I know of. The HRE is more of a split 5 spoke, personally I think the two wheels look nothing a like. Here are some more of the HRE:

To say they look NOTHING alike is an ignorant statement. Of course they look somewhat alike, obvsiouly not identical but at a glance if the 2 wheels where on 2 different cars next to each other would u be saying, " man those wheels look so different from each other".
