Default Tranny Flush - How to questions

So I am pretty intelligent when it comes to cars, but I am a little unsure how to do a transmission flush. I have never done one before, but need to do one on my '02 Xterra. I know I need fluid and a filter, other than that I am lost.

    Help!

a funnel to help fill it and a catch can or pan for the fluid your draining out.
Use what specs nissan has under the hood for fluid and id call a dealer or google to get the quarts needed. Also its best to have a filter strap to remove the filter. Be sure to put just a little fluid in the filter before you install the new one and rub some oil on the rubber seal also. Make sure you dont over tighten the new filter or cross thread it.

OK Thanks, I appreciate it, so essentially just like doing an oil change.

Do I not need to change the filter out in it? My Altima has a tranny filter, I don't know if the Xterra does, I assume so.
