How effective are killswitches??

Could anybody explain to me about these things..What if,the theif knows you have one,and rips the killswitch from the ecu?After ripping it out,would he be able to start the car?Any info would help,as I am going to DEFINETELY get one after my car was stolen last week.

But,what if they were to just rip out the killswitch..Does that mean they cannot start it once it's taken out?And is a killswitch for the fuel pump also connected to the ecu?Does it help to have 2 killswitches?

killswitch can save you,all it is-is a way of cutting off power to a pump or relay or ignition to prevent theft you can killswitch almost anything on the car

look ive known people that take cars and if its got a killswitch they wont even bother with it unless youve got something THEY REALLY WANT in it. my homeboy in cali has a crazy ass killswitch on his old 240 u had to have the ac on 4 all the way on hot and then turn a switch b4 the car would turn on.so the more creative u are the harder it will b to take

Think like a thief - there are LOTS of stupid ass people out there w/ NO security. When a theif encounters things that make it harder and increase how long it takes them to get the car they usually move on. It's a deterrent.

for some reason, i feel as though youre just tryna find out about kill switches so when you go steal a car you'll know what to do to negate it.

or youre just some regular person that needs one because you said " my car got stolen last week"

kill switches are good..ask the guy above me..
its soo good that when you have one on...and your nearly out of gas..you try to jump start the damn car, but its actually your kills witch that you installed and turned on...and even you forgot that you got a kill switch.

Got a point there but cant take a car with a tow truck at the mall or something.In that case nothing will work to stop thieves so just dont put nothing on your car.

Killswitches,alarms,locks all that stuff works to a extent.Those 5mins while they are looking for your switch could be the time your walking out of the movies and see the dumb fucks.

The only thing to me that works is... Don't run your car unless you have to... I had people follow me but they get caught out there cause I would go in a circle before I get home... On top of that no one knows where I live.. plus I don't drive hard on the street for anybody to think my car is fast... Basically stay low key with your car and you dont have to worry about them... P.S guns are legal in GA... USE THEM
