    Default Project: "Franken" Fender Stratocaster

Latest project of mine. I'm taking two Fender Stratocaster's, tearing them down and building a blues guitar for myself to wail on. Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pick-ups, are being taken out of the blue guitar, and put in the sunburst guitar. Should be pretty entertaining when it's all said and done.

Nice work. I just had to do a little bass surgery tonight. Like 2 years ago, I had dremeled out the nut on my backup bass so that I can use the lower 4 strings for a 5-string bass on it...apparently I dremeled too much, because it eventually buzzed so damn much it was unplayable.

So I got a few new nuts (they're cheap so I got some spares), and earlier tonight, I CAREFULLY trimmed the new nut to accept the 130ga "A" string. Here's the pics:

    The old, mangled nut:

The monstrosity that is the 130ga A string:

    The finished product (Ibanez EDC-710 tuned A F# B E):

    Those are some crazy setups.

I would be playing a little more, but I just sold my Line6 Spyder 2x12.

I have an 1996 Epiphone Les Paul(no not those shitty $150 ones, it cost $600) it's black and beautiful. I don't play anymore I never really had time for it. I baught it at a crackhead price because it was completely covered in stickers that were weird and random as hell. I managed to take them all off and realized hey it's black and only has a few scratches.

I like your guitar though, not really sure what you are doing though.

Nice! I my self play acoustic, but I'll get an electric as soon as I'm not broke. Right now I have an Ibanez acoustic and a Peavey Acoustic/Electric. I'm glad to see other people like blues too. Tends to be a lost cause in today's society. +1 rep for you.
