    No.. They come from the same family lines but are actually two different breeds of dogs...

    The Collie is the "lassie" dog... The sheltie (Actually the shetland sheepdog) comes from the same lines but is actually a completely different breed. They both come from the herding family.. They both trace back to Scotland..but the sheltie should look more rounded and body perfected in size..(you can find all the info on www.akc.org)
