I do realize that a portion of her face is too overexposed, however, besides that, because that was my mistake and I see it. What do you all think of the framing/color/and overall shot.

i like it. that forground object on lower left really bugs me, its covering the lower part of her hair. she looks good, well exposed (besides the blown out portion of the face). I LOVE the green accents, they go very well with the the golden brown. I also like how her face is a lighter hue of gold. Over all shot looks great. Its framed a little high for my taste. 24 is back on, gotta run![]()

Was just looking in more detail on this commercial break. Her face is actually blown out on all the highlights. There is barely any detail in her skin. You might have soften her face a little, but still.... the highlights are blown. Hair looks good, and the shawdow pattern adds interest to her jacket. Hows your "tech photos" for this week coming? I might see what i can do later tonight..

I havent taken any shots yet for the contest...trying to charge all my batteries right now lol Tried IMing ya but it shows you arent on. Mine is Nemesis950psi.
Blown Out- the detail has been blown out of the photo, or overexposed. those two terms can go hand in hand..
let me show you the areas that kinda bug me. My monitor is pretty darn close to spot on.

I like the sharpness of the subject myself. I'm not picky at all, so I don't have a super issue with the sun spot on her face. I really like the definition of her eyes and hair. I like that you shot it very shallow, because IMO that was the best style to shot her in that situation.
I like it.![]()
I definatly appreciate the advice...its exactly what Im looking for.
thanks Jaime!
The shot looks good! Danny already covered mostly everything about her face which can be solved by lighting changes. Lighting has deffinately been the biggest problem in most of my "model" portraits, so I knew exactly where the critiq was going from there. (Only because I hear it all the time).
Also, the plant or object in the left corner does mess the picture up a good bit.
Wanted to ask, did you do any post-rendering to the photo? As in mostly blurring of the surrounding? Or was all that done through a far away zoom?
Other than that, she looks good, and the photo would look awesome with subtle changes.
It's clear I need to upgrade to a better DSL-R also! haha

you can tell its most likly a real blur, just look between the hair strands, its blurred equally.. stray hairs usually dissapear when people fake blurs..![]()

The only post processing done to the photo was a cooling filter to calm down the saturation a bit. My camera was set to a Shade white balance, and on Vivid (by accident). There was only a small window of time to really take the shot and by the time I noticed how I wanted to retake it , it was already darkBut yeah, no other photoshopping besides the cooling filter and resize.
My lens is that f/2.8 Sigma 70-200. No tripod was used in the shot, it was hand held.
