Its really fun how you guys think using photoshop is easy. It took about a year for me to learn everything, takes even longer to master. But then again I started when I was 13.

this is like getting a Ferrari for your first car instead of a civic.... both will get you from point a to b, but the civic will be cheaper and do a lot less... yet the Ferrari costs more and is way cooler.

get a cheaper version of it (photoshop elements) to learn the language. if you are an artist get a wacom bamboo drawing tablet for like $100 with photoshop included in the bundle for free. once you figure out how not to get a headache using the program graduate up to cs... the tools are similar, but located in different places and have different access window locations. Photoshop CS is a lot more powerful and gives you greater flexibility, but if you are new to it just use an elements version to get the hang of it, you can still produce pro level work with both but you will miss out of 16 or 32 bit color and other small features... yet features you will miss once you are a cs user. the transition is easy.

I actually use PS elements for my prints business because it is faster (yup faster that my PS cs4)... *the save as automatically puts a copy to a jpg image that I drop a logo onto in elements where CS does not.*

also look at video tutorials on youtube to learn how do do certian steps.

iven been messing with it for a few years i feel im decent but still have a ton to learn its endless really.

if you want to learn any photoshop program step by step and its pretty easy too, go to barns and noble or any book store like that and get scott kelby's book on what ever program you end up with. trust me, you will learn stuff alot faster than youtube.
