    Default Lens kit or no?

It's time for a new camera getting a D90 since I need it for work now. But I was wondering is the D90 kit worth it or should I just buy the body instead? Trying to save a few bucks since I'm in the process of finishing up my car audio right now too. Like Chad mentioned in my first post on this I should be looking for a Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor Lens for work. But besides that it'll be used for just car photography. Suggestions guys?

Yes, do this. Though I will say that I'm very pleased with my Sigma 24-70 2.8.

If you are just taking pictures of cars, then the kit lens will be suitable until you learn enough to know whether you'll benefit from a different lens. A prime (fixed focal length) lens isn't a bad idea either to learn with, but I would get a cheap one until you figure out where your dollars are best spent

To be honest, I'm not quite sure. I just got it in December if that helps.

very few people are too much of a photographer for a D90 + 50mm f/1.8 combo.

but if you need a 60mm micro for work then i would suggest a 35mm f/1.8(about 200 bucks) to go along with it. the 50 and the 60 are just too close in focal.

Nerdsrock, if your 24-70 is a 2.8 hsm and is a good copy. I would trade you my 17-55 2.8 for that and your 10-20.

How can I tell if it's HSM? I'm actually really happy with it though, and I need the cash. I want a 70-200 to go with it.

Trading a nikon 17-55 for a sigma is far from undertrading. I was not trying to step on any toes but shit Everyman for his self lol

It was a gift from my parents, so I'm not sure on the price, but it's not HSM. I love it though!
