    the angle is unnecessary
personally, I have a hard time looking at the scenerey because I'm so bothered by the fact that I have to turn my head sideways to look at it.

    the other pictures are nice

    2. landscape photography is all about lines, and making sure everything is straight. this might have not been a good photo with it straight but tilting it didnt help.

    3. this would look better if you didnt have a 1/2 of a tree truck to the left and part of a trash can at the bottom peeking into the photo.

i think all the pics would benefit from a lil contrast added. the best thing i can tell you is look online for editing tutorials. look on youtube so you have SEE what they are talking about.

sorry if i was a lil more blunt than you asked but thats how ive always got my photos looked at, except alot harsher than this hahhahhaa

yeah the emotion the person in the photo is displaying really affects the emotion the person viewing the photo.

how does this photo make your feel....

    compared to this one....

    big difference right?

in order to photograph models, you need a model release form(for serious stuff, like paid jobs). when i would shoot girls for those types of jobs that havent done alot of modeling i would make sure to get them to sign the model release form AFTER the shoot. why? because its paper work making them sign something that they really dont know about, which makes people uncomfortable. if i did it BEFORE the shoot their emotion during the shoot would be different and the photos wouldnt be as good cause they were just weirded out over this paper i made them sign.

i understand the whole models thing but i honestly was going for more of a candid approach. not a "model shot" per say. i do understand what your saying though.

blacknightteg, are these with a PAS? If you're using an SLR, then I hope to not offend you, but they look like they were taken with a PAS. And the angle picture is definitely not necessary. They are good, clean pictures , it's just that they don't pop. Later, QD.

Although I hate angled shots, I can understand where people get the idea for cars. It's like the WOW! factor or something. When taking a picture of a scenery, I would think that you would want to capture the essence of it as a beautiful landscape. There's no stand out reason for it to be angled. I know you took it and you like and that's what matters, you know. I'm just giving you my opinion, dude.

    ^^^ good stuff.

Also to the OP, Don't beat yourself up over editing...
While editing is a great way to make some amazing photos and rescue crappy photos... you should be able to get some great pictures straight out of that Canon XS without needing crazy editing skills.

thats cool, but it still doesnt change her expression which in my opinion hurts that photo. if it was a candid shot of her smiling or laughing at something it would be 100 times better. even if it was a candid shot of her looking down being depressed it would be better but in the photo she just looks uncomfortable. it doesnt mean you fucking suck and should never touch a camera again lol but its one of those things that just makes the photo less than what it could be
