Most of the incidents happened when we where in small groups (like 6-8 cars or so). But I have to say that learning the hard way sucks but it seems that all got off a bit on the lucky side. Tanks could have been much worse! Heck, my mini-drift could have been worse (and it wasn't lack of experience...I've been on mountain runs before).

when i say inexperienced i say that as in .. YOU ARE ON A PUBLIC HIGHWAY you should know better than to push the limits and put others saftey in danger... that is why there are track days you can take your car to..

I want to do a run at the Gap. I've just had more success up there in getting in good runs w/o much other traffic to worry about.

Plus the lude shines more in the tight turns...

x-mas runs won't work for me. Family comes first! Plus I'd think that there would be snow up there already which means salt and other things you'd not want to do any kind of spirited driving even near.

I'm thinking early spring but we'll see...

Should have seen us on the last run down this little road after we left Vogul. Several 180 turns and some killer flip flop twisties.

    I think you're talking about 180.

Just wait until you get up to the gap. I'm telling you, most of you just don't know! I have a vid (that's huge! I need to break it up and compress it some) of a friend following me through part of it. Very nice!

It's always more intimidating when you're not driving. You are not in control.

Exactly. That and I could not get any pics while rolling because Tank still thinks he is in Germany.

i wouldn't have said it if we hadn't hung out a few times.

somehow, along the way, it turned into a rumor that it was the vette that spun out or got sideways... someone corrected that for me once we got to the park.

The Supra did not spin out till we had left the park coming home. Jason got his prelude sideways on the way to the park.

strange how things get twisted around... i hadn't heard anything at all about the prelude until he posted something about it somewhere on here.

yeah I did not see it but Jason told us about it at Vogul. The group I was in we had George get hit by the bike, Alex's brakes came and went several times, and Tank tried to play Initial D on the mountain.

It was after we left the park actually. We were on 129 and heading back towards 180 after that U-turn. They guy in the green car was behind me (sorry...I don't remember what kind of car!).

I came in a bit hot and was trying to back off the guy in front of me so the rear got a bit loose. It was like half a second. I wish someone could have got it on film...

Of course my wife about flipped out but she was less cool about me hitting a lot of speed (I'll leave it at that) on a small straight on 180. Let's just say that I love my brakes!

I got the sideways part on vid but there was nothing but trees behind me when it happened so it's hard to tell. There was more background movement in the video afterwards when we went up 180...all those quick snap-backs got me dizzy watching the vid!

^^^ that's great except you forgot fat and greasy hillbilly.

Yeah the run was a lot of fun, my first time on one (and it taught me to never use cheap brake pads again...ever!).
