Red Bull soap box derby
so i really have taken my camera out to shoot anything, was watching TV and saw the cammercial for the Soap box derby. well i was wondering if anyone was planning on going and if they were did anyone want to meet up to shoot the event. if ur interested post up.
ive been to the kite flying event in FL a few years back and it was halarious.
A small group of photogs are planning on going. Right now I think we're meeting at the V at 9 or 10.
They were giving out free redbulls at GSU today and promoting this. Where is it? (obviously, i didnt get a redbull)
i wouldn't mind going to this, but i know there are going to be fucking gobs of people there. all i will do is be pissed off the whole time i think lol.

I will be there with a few friends as well. I think 10th st @ Piedmont are the streets its being held at if I'm not mistaken. Pits open at 11am open ceremony @ 1245 and first car @ 1pm. Seems like it will be nice

except tonight they broke an axel... car has to be in atlanta tomorrow night..
They have been advertising the heck out of this soap box derby.
Its gone from 'indie localized event' to an over-promoted spectacle which will undoubtedly disappoint when you can't park anywhere/can't see anything.
At least the rain is supposed to let up!

Well I won't be able to make it that early. Have to wait on some friends from out of town. I'll try to be where the derby cars have to steer around something to see all the crashes.
What a waste of fucking time. I went a little late I guess, but I've never wanted to punch people in the face as much as today. Strollers, douchebag event planners, douchebag Atlanta police, douchebags in general. Damn. Where did you guys end up being? I basically struggled for an hour in the gridlock sidewalk and tried to get a beer at the park tavern which wa closed for a private party. I should have just slept in. AND I got ripped off by some worthless bum at the Marta station. Fucking douchebags should get a fucking job.

It's right by my house. I don't go even though it's walking distance because I know how all of the events at the park are. Full of too many lame people—all in your space and shit.
Yeah a freaking mad house. Hot as Hell too. I just met my friends and left after 10-15 cars. TOO many freaking people in one small area
Yeah shit was crazy. I didn't get any shots of the cars on the course because of all the people in the way.
Tell me about it. There's some rude people in this city. Oh and never trust people selling "unused" Marta tickets. All they do is charge up one ticket, let you in, then give you a dead ticket. Happened to me before.
only got a few decent ones because of all said people.

Sounded like fun and I REALLY wanted to go. After hearing the stories, I am glad I didnt.
