Smallest DSLR camera on the market
Have you guys seen this yet? We just got them in at work and I am debating on getting one. I played around with it today for about 2 hours and love the feel, build quality, and pictures that are coming out of it. Above all, I love the size. I have a 50D but its just too big to bring everywhere. The G1, might make it possible for me to take my DSLR everywhere.

If people want compact and lightweight, they should own a high end point and shoot in my opinion. People buy DSLRs all day long, but dont invest the money in good quality glass and then a good body is put to waste. Higher end bodies with high MP counts demand sharp glass, if you dont feed it that, your images will show. Much like an audiophile, to the typical consumer they wouldnt know any different, but an enthusiast will be able to notice. Im sure theres a market for this but itll never sway hardcore Nikon/Canon ED/L glass shooters.
The Lumix is barely smaller than a rebel T1i/Xsi/Xti. I'd get a rebel and still retain the ability to use your 50D lenses

There certainly are times that lugging a big ass camera just wont' work.
Concerts, six flags/, skiing/snowboarding, the club etc.
Pretty much anywhere you're gonna be really active and a camera will weigh you down (or get stolen/destroyed in the process).
so carrying a small dslr would change any of that? you would still need a really big pocket or a case. a slim point and shoot would reign in most of those circumstances.

If you think it will work best for your situations in which you need a camera, then by all means get it. But like George said, it's all about the lenses.
all im going to say is Leika...they created the entire camera from scratch and have done all the lens for the camera.
would be a great camera for automotive rig shots.....
630 bucks? thats a lot more than I was thinking it cost. smaller isn't always better - especially if this is a dslr. what is the sensor size? crop factor must be significant with this one.
