Default Mr. Clean's '85 Dubble Wyde build thread!

    12/20 NEW PICS PAGE 4

Yeah so there's a fairly large story behind this thing but basically, Ms. Clean's dad offered us this place for $350/month. It's out behind her grandma's house in Cumming on about an acre of so of land. They lived in it way back in the day but it has been rented out for about the last 17 years and obviously the trashy renters that have been there didn't give a shit about the place. It needs a TON of work and er dad is fronting the money for most everything we've done and then if all goes as planned when the rent that we pay every month pays off that debt then we're rent free. it's a fucking long way from my work, but it's cheap and it's a hou- err trailer, whatever. The stigma behind living in a trailer is pretty hard for me so I think I'm trying to make this place as nice as I can so I don't feel as though I am lowering my standards as I have always had pretty decent place of residence so this is my story haha.

    so far we've

    -fixed gaping holes in floor
    -painted all rooms
    -new carpet throughout
    -new linoleum throughout
    -new fixtures
    -deck/porch repairs
    -gutter repair
    -new doors and locks
    -replacement windows
-re leveled driveway (3 dump trucks of gravel )
    -window treatments

    UPDATE 12/11:
    -all new mini-blinds
    -new oven
    -outside lighting

    and to come:

    -kitchen cabinet revamp
    -exterior paint
    -car port cover thing (canopy)
    -sidewalk to front porch
    -porch repaint
    -pressure wash from hell
    -exterior sprucing
    -replace sliding glass door
    - probably tons more that i can't/don't want to think of

Here's the first day and it yes the paint is REDONKULOUS! the paint in all the rooms was so thick that we were peeling paint off the walls in huge sheets. it was awful. and sorry for the awful pics, i can't ever remember to get out my tripod. but yeah the anyway here's where we started:

kevin, daniel, and derick came over and ripped some paint down with me lol, kevin was able to hide against my wall with the paint stretched around him and kevin ain't so skinny kid lolol

    thanks juuu guys! geez.

    AFTER SOME MORE PEELING:

this is after about 4 weeks of working and the most recent update 11/9/08

    -living room done
    -master bedroom 1 coat
    -new carpet and linoleum

still need to do paint in the pink and blue room and the master bathroom and guest bathroom, but just about everything left is paint. oh and we have to put trim molding on the ground and some other random places need repair, but it's getting there.

You forgot to capitalize, put a comma, and you can't start a sentence with a lowercase A or the word and. You also forgot to double space after each sentence. Also, the word "God," is also supposed to be capitalized, no matter how you use it. Thank you and have a great night.

haha yeah it is friggin ginormous. they're just so cheap. the walls are like this thin wood paneling and every time 2 panels come together there is a little strip of wood haha. AND there are like 234873094832 tacks in the wall to hold the panels to the wall. it's basically like plywood. and everything is "wood grain" laminate. i haven't been in but a handful of trailers in my life and they were all old, so i can only hope that newer ones are better made.

yeah that's damn near impossible, that's another one of my worries, there's little nooks and crannies everywhere. it's supposed to get sprayed for bugs this week. we'll see what that does, but so far i haven't seen any critters.

Damn now you need to wear that 1 wig 100% of the time.

Jk, but for real though living there will be good for ya man, I lived in a huge doublewide once, and it was about the same size as the house were in now. Cant really tell a difference when its done up properly.

Also $350 is better that $600+

Looks like it has come a long way. I wish my payment was only 350. I have two payments of over 1k each month. I would recommend buying a couple of those bug bombs and throwing them under the house. I did that with a trailer I lived in a long time ago and it worked out great. I bought some 7 dust and sprinkled all up under the house also after the bombs had gone off. It killed everything. And then you can get to working on the outside of the house. Pressure wash the decks and add some stain and your set. If i didnt live so far away I would bring over the sprayer and we could do it all in a day!

I bought some 7 dust and sprinkled all up under the house also after the bombs had gone off. It killed everything. And then you can get to working on the outside of the house. Pressure wash the decks and add some stain and your set. If i didnt live so far away I would bring over the sprayer and we could do it all in a day!
word. it's in cumming, i'll make sure to let you know if i get the willingness to do all that haha. my parents have a pressure washer that they're supposed to bring, but we'll see if that happens.
