I'd say lets just give it a roll. If somebody can get access to shoot a new GT-R, and does a good enough job at it, then lets see it. But I highly doubt a quick capture of one driving down I-75 will make the cut.

I would expect, however, that most serious artists/photographers will take this chance to explore another aspect of transportation other than import cars/the usual bs.

couldnt have said it better myself.

Kash, that may be true. But some of the people that are voting in these are the people that frequent this section, that usually have a pretty good grasp on the difference b/t artistry and a nice picture

well... lets hope they have a good grasp on concepts as well.

cuz like i said before the picture of choice in the "Rep Your City" Challenge was unjust in my honest opinion.

but yeah... ima participate nonetheless as stated before. but for the next one lets think of something that doesnt inevitably lead to biased votes

I don't usually get in photography type of debates because it's such a subjective field where beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Nemesis is right though. If you are going to do some type of contest and maintain a level playing field, you can't give such a vague subject. As Nemesis pointed out, this really should be judged by multiple criteria. Is the picture clear? Is it composed nicely? Does it follow the assigned subject? Is it creative? etc, etc, etc. If you do a "car" theme, you will definetly throw out lots of the objectivity and merely get a bunch of people voting for the picture based on their own bias as to what their favorite car is (likely).

I've voted in all of the previous challenges and used some of the criteria I mentioned above. If they stuck to the subject and their picture looked appealing, they got my vote.

As long as you and your fellow IA'ers do the same, we shouldnt have a problem. I'll make sure to include a disclaimer when posting up the results thread.
