I mean thats a great camera as well. But you need to be able to convince yourself why you need to spend the extra 400 bucks. A lot of people spend money on more advanced stuff when they don't really need it. If you can't tell someone why its worth more to you, then you honestly don't need it. You'd do better to get the d40 and then pick up a nicer used lens like the 18-200mmVR.
