    Default F-15's engaging 2 MIG's

These pictures are pretty cool to me considering I was actually there when the Russians stopped at Elmendorf where these pictures were taken (9 years old at the time) to see the AN-225. (The BIG one) When they started up the turbines dust flew all over the base, and I believe it is still the biggest cargo plane around.. It was a big deal since our previous relationship with russia and their pilots were able to fly our planes and vice versa.. our pilots flew theirs. Anyway.. the pics:

Antonov An-225 largest plane built (1 was built), designed to carry soviet space shuttle Buran.
2nd largest is the An-224, (multiple were built).. general purpose cargo plane.

is there a higher resolution of the 1st photo available?

There was a C5 parked across the flightline when the russian cargo plane was there.. basically from what I remember the russian plane dwarfed the C5.

There are many more c-5s than c-17 at Dobbins. They are there to get new engines put on. They come in loud as **** and go out quiet........er
