Default First shot with quantaray 70-300mm lens

This is the wrong lens for my camera, so I'm forced to manual focus it.

It was way to bright outside, but I was eager to test it.

No editing at all, except a border and my name.

Here it is, comments or criticism welcome.

Just be easy, I still have a lot to learn with this camera/lens.

Looks good, composition would be perfect if the bike was lower or even higher in the frame though

You are right about that, I was just ready to shoot some with it, next few shoots I take I will take that advice.

thats cool... cant beat that for $20.. sucks that you have to manually focus, but looks like you didnt do too shabby of it.... might not work so well with moving subjects though, but definitely nice for $20 lol

That image looks great and well worth more than $20 (equipment wise, I'm not saying I'll pay you $20+ for that image)

Side note: very good manual focusing through a teeny weeny D40 viewfinder. It's like looking at a postage stamp at the end of a paper towel roll.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

Think whatever program that was used to resize it compressed it so it looks jagged like it was sharpened.

Nice pic man, not too shabby at all! But it does look like PS didn't do a good job of resizing it. Might want to take it back up to orig. a/r and take it down a little bit at a time.

i'd make sure the settings are on 300dpi or larger.

why? That's for printing, it would make the picture too large on a computer monitor. HTML is read to display text and images in 72 dpi format.
