Our class is finally learning photography and it's pretty fun. Our teacher gave each of us an Canon PowerShot A610 digital camera and told us to go out and take some pictures. As the title stats, this is my first time, so don't be to harsh.

SDOF may have been the assignment. The depth of field on that camera is so well defined too (ie. both dictionary & bug pic)...i don't think i can even get that much effect with my XTI and kit lens.
Overall they look good, haven't bothered looking at the exif data...were they shot in manual or just a macro mode?

Yeah if your assignment is not set on Macro shots, then you need some variety in your photos. I love Macro shots, but a variety is the key!

Those are very impressive especially for that cam, they are very reasonably priced on ebay.. id say good work so far!
