    XP Home is unmanaged, and simplified on security.

    XP Pro is managed, has remote desktop server, multi-processor support, automated system recovery, dynamic disk support, encrypted files system, file-level access control, etc.

    One important thing XP Pro has over Home is the fact Pro can join a computer domain. Home cannot do this, it can only join a Workgroup. Just FYI.

    put it this way... home comes free on just about any computer b/c it sux balls... thats why people buy PRO... just DL it and you'll be happier
