I shoot with the 350D (XT) and love it. The D80 is the comperable camera to the XTi. Really just need to do some research on which camera will fit the type of shooting situations you will be shooting. Check www.dpreview.com for some good comparisons.

My brother uses a 30D and he likes it, but everything is all backwards to me....
I use a D70s and my buddy uses a D80, and both are great cameras.
The D80 is a lil smaller then the d70,

Been good. Same here, making a lil money on the side but mainly from Model shoots. The car shooting is hard to break into since I never really post my work, maybe that is the problem

Glad to hear things are good for you man. Maybe we should set up a photographer field day and just hang out and shoot whatever and get to know each other outside of IA. I know George was trying to set one up not long ago so maybe he can actually put it in motion.

yeah we could do something like that, I havent really messed with my personal Album cause I have been so busy with 180pix, we range about 3000-4000 photos a weekend, so I spend most of my time sorting through all them!

Maybe we can work something out soon

i've used both over the years and owned nikons until just recently, and i'm enjoy my new 30D a bit more than the D70 i was using. the nikon was still nice, but the canon has the sweet wheel which makes scrolling through pics way easy, is faster, and does better at higher ISO's in low light. it did cost quite a bit more than the D70 though, so i'd just go with whatever you can find a nice deal on and try both out to see which one you like better.

True, but you cant compare a D70 to a 30D. The 30D is more on the D200 level. The 350D , etc , is more on the D50/70 neck of the woods.

However, for High ISO shooting the Canons are nice.

But you couldnt put a Canon body in my hands if you paid me

The nikon and canon debates are always pretty iffy! I've never really heard anything bad about Canon's, though I can't really recall anything major being said about Nikons!

I second this. I'm trying to decide between Canon and Nikon and any extra info would be great.
