so emma will be one year old on nov. 1st.. she finally went into heat a few weeks ago (she is full-bred rat terrier so we want her to have babies) anyway last weekend we went to my moms house, she has a 10 year old male chihuahua who hates her.. they bark at eachother the whole time lol.. but when emma was in the backyard we noticed her squatting a lot.. and she would tinkle the first few times then squat and nothing would come out.. i got a little worried.. well we came home and she was fine.. then last night on her walk we saw her doing it again.. so my questions are..

is she squatting so much to mark her terroritory? or could it be b/c her "area" is irritated b/c she is in heat?

or does she have some sort of infection?

i used to have a lab/chow and she wasn't spayed and i don't remember her doing any of this when she was in heat!

HELP i don't want our puppy to be in pain!!
