I LOVE your new puppy! he is so cute!
Does he have his shots? What kind of toys and housing situation do you have for him? (like a crate? or a dogy bed)
Can't wait to hear more about your new puppy

thank you! bought him for my wifey. he has his first shot and going back next weekend for the second. as far as toys only has 2 a rope that makes noise and a chew toy,(pigs ear).

funny you mention his doggy bed . we have a extra new one that he went straight for when we got home. and a small doggy pillow pictured.

the only consurn i have is house trainig him since this is my first indoor dog i've owned. But hopefully he picks up as quick as my Pits trained to do there bussiness on a certain spot. If that doesnt work pet-co has training class for 100 bucks; 6 weeks.

awww YAY!! another ratty! we have one and she is 9 months old! thats her below we got her at about 8 weeks old.. they are sooooo very sweet.. very very very hyper but awesome dogs!! training is tough.. you just have to spend lots of time with them.. also make sure you get it used to people.. you will be thankful for it later.. when we got emma we took her everywhere.. especially the car meets where everyone could hold her and she meet lots of people! oh yea.. and they chew like crazy.. we've been giving emma cheeweez.. she loves them.. invest in lots of bones!! congrats on your new pup!! let me know if you have any questions.. remember to keep their brain stimulated.. they love learning new things!! if they get bored they act out.. emma likes to chew/dig the carpet and god forbid there is any loose paint on the wall.. we have quite a few holes in our wall from her!!

she is only 11 lbs so your male might get a bit bigger than her.. is he full bred? if so are you going to bred him down the line? we are considering it with emma.. but she is too young right now!

www.rat-terrier.com is a great forum to look through.. some of the members are kinda odd but its got some good tips and cute stories!!

    Default Small Puppy Toys

Here are some other puppy toy ideas, if you want some.
I tried to look for ones that are mentally, visually and orally stimulating since it sounds like you have an especially active puppy on your hands. And most of these help with teething too- I hated when my dog was loosing his puppy teeth- he chewed everything!

These are on sale now at petco; great puppy toys (you'll have to replace them often for puppies, they chew through everything)

(Flags have a great crinkle sound)

(a must have.. just fill it with yumy treats; dry treats; peanutbutter; carrots... just make sure you rinse it out often)
(Made from a special teething rubber formula, Puppy Kong promotes healthy development of your puppy's mouth and good chewing behavior. Soothes sore gums too!)

(Chewing Cool Teething Stick helps soothe your dog's tender gums, while providing a fun chew object. The toy has a crunchy shell when frozen, to help satisfy your dog's urge to chew.)

(Feeds and rewards your dog in a fun and entertaining way, challenges him, and is just plain fun.)

    These I've only at Petsmart:

(these two cuddle buddies are good for young puppies- Puppy Cuddle Pad - Microwave it to provide warmth. Plush shell is removable for machine washing. 9". Soothing Treasure - Stash a treat in the top for hours of fun, calm concentration-Microwavable warmth soothes stiff muscles. Plush shell removes for machine washing. 16".)

very true... socializing your puppy is very important!
and we can't wait to meet him! Do you want to bring him to the puppy playdate? Everyone is required to be up to date on their shots; so chances of him getting anything would be slim (he would only get sick if another dog is not up to date on shots). If not, maybe next time around... but we would still love to meet you and your wife.
