i work as a waiter for a summer job, so knowing how shitty and crappy the job is i tip at least 25%.
not bashing on asians or anything, but damn they tip like shit. out of a 50 dollar meal, a guy left me 93 cents just to even out his credit card bill. he had the balls to come back too, i made sure he got the worst service possible.
put yourselves in their shoes, some people make a living off what you leave them.

Of course if you got into a discussion with them they would pull the race card, but I would pull it as well ---> as in how come 90% of your race doesn't tip for shit? If people feel they are descriminated as being a bad tipper based on their race, then why not show the server otherwise and tip good?

I work for Chili's as a PT job to get me through school and as a waiter I see both worlds. I see where the majority of people are coming from. The better the service obviously the better the tip, in most cases. I will say from experience though, it seems like the more I enteract with the customers the less of a tip they leave and the less I pay attention - I still stay on top of refills - the bigger the tip. It just doesn't make any sense.
Now how do you like your waiter/waitress to serve you? do you want them to just bring the food and leave or do you like them to chat with you? I had one customer complain that I was insulting her by calling her a girl instead of a lady. I just thought that they like it cause most tables would just laugh and it would make them feel younger I guess you could say. Another complained when I asked to see her i.d. when she ordered alcohol. I couldn't help that a .30 something yr old looked like she was in her young 20's.
I leave notes with advice on them.
all depends on service...terrible service they get a penny heads up....great service i might tip 20 bucks on a 30 dollar bill it just all depends normally around double the tax rounded up
i am a waiter during the summer so i try an leave at least 25-30%
It depends. I'll usually leave $5 for a $7 meal. I do not know what that equates to but the places that I usually go to are nice places.
If its just average service, i usually tip about 20%. If its crapy (aka waitress just stands around, doesn't refill drinks) then usually 10%. If its good service, and they interact alot then around 30-40%.
I tip depending on service... As far as pizza I used to be a Store Manager and Driver..Originally Posted by admin
Look at pizza this way they have a 10 mile radius most cars get about 20 mpg city advrage so if you get a stiff you just lost 2.55 to 2.85 in gas.
Most large chains, used to give the driver $1 per delivery and not make the coustomer pay anything.. But as Gas prices went up and stores started loosing delivery drivers, the only thing to do is give them more gas money so they started charging $1 delivery charge to give the drivers $2 per delivery. That way they could atleast break even if they get stiffed thats not counting wear and tear on the car <oil change, brake change more often>
So Be nice to your pizza guy he ia alone with your pizza for atleat 5 - 10 mins

normal service is 20 percent...
sucky service is 10-15 percent depending on where I am and how much it sucked.
25-30 percent if it was great service and i am in a good mood.
and if dey give me the hook up (aka free food or drinks..) i give dem the amount that free stuff cost plus 25 percent
20-40% depending on service. My girl also leaves little thank you notes on napkins if the service is great {gayness}.

LOL !! (j/k)

Sorry to bring this back......yeah working in food gives me a more forgiving outlook when I go out.
I.E. Yesterday I went to Steak and Shake and the waiter seemed kinda noob-ish.....he knew me and the guy I was with worked in a restraunt because we were talking about what had happened over the weekend.....anyway he noob-ed out and spilled my milkshake all over the table, and then he admitted it was his first day. Now normally I would be mad, but he was trying really hard and seemed like a good guy, plus I know what first days are like. Other then that everything was cool, so I ended up leaving a 50% tip on a 12 dollar meal.
omg aww ^^^^ poor guy...spilled the milkshake all over the table
i'm a bartender...i've spilled beer on people countless times. o well. when you work in a retaurant or bar, it happens to everyone atleast once.
good job on the tip though![]()
if the service Is great and waiter.tress is taking care of us i leave about 5-8 bucks .
if the food is bad i give my personal tip of the day and tell them to fine a new cook!!!![]()
for example today the wife and i went out to eat, nothing fancy but to johnny rocket ( i think thats the name) anyway the service was 110% like always and out of a 25.00 bill i left 9 bucks
but if the service was bad even though food would have been great i would have not left SHIT!
so it depends

15%
but if they suck... its goes way way down....
but I'm not cruel like a lot of my buddies.. they'll leave whatever change is in their pockets
twoONEoh
ive worked in a restaurant for 2 years, and now i work in two. i feel for anyone that works in them, especially servers and i tip very well. if the serve is awful ill leave 15% and if they do alright, 20-25...and if i really like them[isn't very often] ill leave them something rather generous.
20% if they are good, 10% if they are bad.
20% unless they give me a reason (pretty easy to give me a reason) not to. I've left pennies before to.. I dont give a fuck if the girl is a single mom with 800 kids and depends on her tip, if she doesn't deserve a real GRATUITY, then she's not getting one.
My family's been in the restaurant business as long as I can remember so I always tend to overtip. Usually I'll tip about 40-50% and more if the service was good. But it all depends on how the server seems, because sometimes ya the service will be bad but it'll be so busy. As long as they're trying to get you to enjoy your meal I think they did their job. Free drinks and a few extra things like adding cheese for free always tend to make me tip alot more. Like when I goto IHOP on Roswell Rd, the guy named John always serves me, gives me great service and free drinks and to go drink cups, I end up always tipping 80-100% on the meal. The meal would be around $30 for my friends and I and I would usually leave around $20+.
depends....
Good Service/Great Service
Hot Watress= 30%
Not Hot/dude= 20%
+ I round up to the nearest $5
Bad Service
10-15% depending on how bad
Note
I know the differenc between bad service and bad food. bad food gets comp'd and server still gets the tip

bad or good job no less than 16% or $5, whichever is greater.

i leave cigarette's
lol i always seem to forget them on the table
nah i tip decent most of the time. I dont make a lot so they are not getting a lot
"I remember the first time I had sex – I kept the receipt."
I do 15% which I thought was great but I guess not lol. 20% sometimes but not when the bill is already $100+
I feel for waiters, so I do at least 20%. If it's just me eating, I feel like I am wasting their time, so if I get good service I may go to 50%.
On this note wild winngs at north point has shitty service. I get this fucking lazy ass guy every other time. The first time he forgot our order and was watching TV, so I know he wasn't just screwing us over. Second time, he was a little better still didn't give a shit abot anyone. Third time we had no napkins for a while, had to refill our own drinks once or twice, and we were done we didn't get our check or even see him for like 15 minutes. We just left the money on the table.

it depends on the party and it depends on the service. i used to be a waitress at resturantes and clubs so i know hwo the trade works.
i always give good tips but if i get treated like shit serves you right it will be a little tip. but i cant tell when someone is new to the whole thing or when its crazy busy they cant get to me like they normaly would i still give great tips. i dont go by percentages until its a really big party like a party or 6 +
id still tip even if i got a drink of water
Usually 20-25%, because I have friends who have waited.
If I have money I'll tip more. Having a friendly and positive attitude is really important to me. This chick at Chick-fila-A was just really cool so I gave her a $5 bill and it fuckin made her day. It was definitely worth it!
Oh and try to tip in CASH. CC tips get taxed to hell.
There's always that bad tipper from any race.If I get bad service, say food was $6-8.I give total $10.food is bad but service was good I'll give more.if food n service is good, the bill $40+. I'll give 20% or even more.
.oh plus I try to tip in cash.
use to help out my friends sushi place.delivery boy.average order $40-80. I would get $10-20 per delivery.quite often would get $40+ tip.bought a nice dc2 from 1st mth tip

wich makes sense seeing as how your not spending any more than you plaed on but the drivers only get maybe 3\4 of that charge yeah 25cents isnt that much but if you spread it out over 30 deliverys throughtout the night thats some serious money were lossing
i never go below 15% unless the service sucks.
and it is usually whatevers left
We all know i leave KILLER TIPS!!!
