    Default System32 folder

Where has mine gone? it's missing I know its impossible not to have one but mine is gone I HAD one at one point. But now its missing. I need that folder so that I can put a host file in there. I did a search inside of thw WINDOWS folder for C: \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. <--- Thats the specific folder I need to go to. But all it does is oull up saying that its not a vaild folder. Anyone know a solution to this probelm?

I may be hidden. Go into your windows folder and check the folder options. Then display all. I doubt it would be hidden though. Weird.

It's there somewhere in your window's folder. You OS wouldn't boot up if it wasn't there. What were you doing b4 you noticed you couldn't find it?

Are you running XP home or pro...cas if I remember right you actually cant get to sys32 in XP home...

Another thing it is that if you are not a power user on the computer you might not be able to get to it also...

I ran a antivirus program called e Trust EZ antivirus and it found the virus and deleted it. or you can try this
    Click Start
    Click Run
Type in the run box CMD
    click ok
    At the prompt type attrib -a -h -r -s c:\windows\system32
    Press the Enter key

I think you should reattribute the system identifier to that folder.
