I'm Pentecostal/Non-denominational.... i don't think denominations matter as much as long as ur hearts in it... there are too many ways to interperit the bible... but i do go to a Church of God, and love it!

don't take my words too seriously, you were the one that said "mormons" were retarded......

Just for curiosity ....why aren't Mormons considered "Christians"?
Maybe you need to stop watching South Park and do a little studying.

I used to build up my faith by looking for faults in other religions. I was wrong then and have since changed my ways. Thats the problem with religion, maybe we should all just get a long and love one another. It's better in the end

    I know I'm a noob here....get over it.

heres what ive found, FROM YOUR PRESIDENT (mormon church)

As a Church we have critics, many of them. They say we do not believe in the traditional Christ of Christianity. There is some substance to what they say. Our faith, our knowledge is not based on ancient tradition, the creeds which came of a finite understanding and out of the almost infinite discussions of men trying to arrive at a definition of the risen Christ. Our faith, our knowledge comes of the witness of a prophet in this dispensation who saw before him the great God of the universe and His Beloved Son, the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. They spoke to him. He spoke with Them. He testified openly, unequivocally, and unabashedly of that great vision. It was a vision of the Almighty and of the Redeemer of the world, glorious beyond our understanding but certain and unequivocating in the knowledge which it brought. It is out of that knowledge, rooted deep in the soil of modern revelation, that we, in the words of Nephi, “talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that [we and] our children may know to what source [we] may look for a remission of [our] sins” (2 Ne. 25:26). (Mormon President Gordon B. Hinkley, “We Look to Christ,” Ensign, May 2002, 90)

so if you want to say that mormons are christians than you can say the same for muslims, you both follow the bible, but then have another book written after it.

i mean im not saying anything bad about your religion, im just stating it as i see it

    So...what is a Christian?

I believe that it's someone who follows the teachings of Jesus, and accepts him as the son of god and the savior of man......

    1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

    2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

    3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

    4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

    6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

    7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

    8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

    9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

    10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

    11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

    12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

    13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Are we christians? I think #1 answers that.
I can't change you mind and I'm not going to fault you for it. Don't fault me for my faith either.

Aight here I go (who ever said the comment about the 'other' choice), there isnt much proof anywhere on how the fuck we got here...so I havent picked sides yet...but if there is a 'god' I dont think he cares about anything which is (diest(sp?)).

I do enjoy religest theory and stuff like that. For instance I loved the DiVinici code and The Omen just for the suggestions of what did happen or what is going to happen.

IMO religion is just for insecrue people that need to think someone loves them...(no offense to every other person in this thread just about)

    I'm agnostic.

I was about eleven or twelve when I relized how big of hypocrites christians were. I started reading up and christianity. I'm pretty smart, so I understood stuff real quickly. I've did quick briefs of many religions. I've had talks with people who are different religions than me. At this point in life, I've decided to be agnostic for now. I don't know what to believe in, but I know there is something to believe in.

Plus, here's a site that shows some of the reasons I think christianity is wrong:

    http://www.luciferian.org/index.php?col=yhwh

and no, Luciferianism is not satanic or a cult. I'm pretty into that religion, but I doubt I'm going to be in it.

I use to be Pentecostal...That means if ur a girl ur not allowed to wear pants, tight clothes, nothing but skirts and dresses and they must stop below the knee...We couldnt cut our hair, pluck our eyebrows, wear make up, no jewelry except for a wedding ring...

Sad thing is all the Pentecostal girls were the biggest hoes...Think about it always in skirts no panties...easy access...

Now I am nondenominational...I dont think that God hates me for wearing pants....

I can only speak from experience....The more we were told that we were going to hell or doing something "bad" the more we had sex...But granted like all good Christians do we would repent...Dont get me wrong I wasnt a habitual sinner but I was prone to have my oops moments...

The church I go to now really surprised me one day...The pastor busted out with "if sinning felt bad then we wouldn't do it. If God gave us something that is for our wife/husband, why would he make it feel bad." I agree but once Pandora's box was open for me....well uh...Yeah I have a prob...

I grew up Pentecostal....tooooooootally had me confused growing up. Glad I saw the light. I think that lead me to be so sex driven at first. I was a man-whore...then I calmed down.

Religion is a crutch....Christianity (following Jesus, not a church group) is completely different. Follow Christ, not rules from a group of people.

I think the biggest reason why people are afraid to go to church (usually the place where Christ is introduced to people, commonly) is because they think they have to give everything up when they go. That and the whole "hypocrite" thing which is really getting old.

you too, wish you could have gotten there earlier. I take off around that time becaue I've gotta get home, shower, take out the dog, make my lunch...all before going to bed. Gotta get up at 6, and I need at least 7-8 hours of sleep.

I am nothing, and I am everything. I am just me. I do not need "guidance" or religion to tell me how to live right. I follow the 10 commandments, but NOT b/c they are the 10 commandments... B/C THEY ARE COMMON DAMN SENSE!!! I treat people right and I try to live a good life. If I end up in hell b/c I do not buy into the "hype" (or atleast have not to date) then so be it. I treat people right, I choose right over wrong, if God sends me to hell simply b/c I have not bowed and unconfessed that he is God (Romans 14:11), yet allows some guy on death row who ate 12 kids to heaven just b/c he "confessed and repinted and found God 10 minutes before his execution" then he (God) is a hypocrite anyway.

I agree w/ ya J. I think people should put more of an emphasis on morals & spirituality instead of religion. Like J said, alot of religion is nothing but common sense. Treat people good, and try to do good onto the world. That's what I think people should try to follow in life.

My moral standards are different than your standards. My right might be your wrong. If I think that it's ok to kill someone for stealing from me, I'm in the clear because its what I believe to be ok. Get where I'm going?

God sees all sin as one, and no one sin caries more value than another. This is so that I can't say "I'm better than him because all I did was steal, but he killed", justifying my worth to God. Who are we to claim who's better than another? To God we're all sinners, regardless of what we've done, we're redeemable.

The man who kills still has to face his consequence for his actions. He will die and suffer, but if he accepted Jesus before then, he's not getting out of his mortal punishment, but afterwards will be saved.

This is no different than those who were drug addicts, drunks, violent, molesters, etc. and they changed their life. Should you be judged on your past? Does the time between that phase in my life and the day I die matter? No, nor should it.

God doesn't want you to try to change when you accept Him. He knows what's in our hearts, and if we desire change, He will do it for us.

I don't think it determines if u are a good person, that is just how u are viewed but certain people...I dont think that God loves you any less for having sex...Remember he hates the sin not the sinner....
