Luther Burger, also referred to simply as a doughnut burger, is a hamburger, specificaly a bacon cheeseburger, which employs a glazed donut (such as a Krispy Kreme) in place of a bun According to urban legend, it was invented at Mulligan's bar in Decatur, Georgia on a day when the cook ran out of hamburger buns and decided to use two donuts instead. Its creator named the sandwich after R&B legend Luther Vandross, who reportedly enjoyed the sandwich; some rumors claim that Vandross himself invented his namesake burger.

The Hamdog is a hot dog wrapped in a beef patty that is deep fried, covered with chili, cheese and onions, and served on a hoagie bun topped with a fried egg

The sports bar that sells these creations is actually IN ATLANTA (decatur, to be specific). In contrast to the above statements, Mulligans was one of the first new bars/restraunts to move into the ailing Oakhurt neighborhood. In the last few years, property values have skyrockted and the area is MUCH nicer.
