i'd have to say those people dont have a valid point unless they actually studied the bible a little more.
quotes from the bible can mean alot more and many different things, as bible shouldnt be taken LITERALLY word for word.
so.. for instance, old testament said eye for an eye.
the new testament said, forgive 77 times.

so, i suppose if those people heard the old testament before the new testament, they would obliviously do the same. Eye for an eye.

again, these people dont have a valid point unless they study and understand the bible more.
I Agree with you. We have a lot of crazy christians in the world today who take the word at face value and never look deeper into the the Word i.e. the original languages Hebrew, Caldean, Greek, figures of speech, etc. Hebrew and greek are more complicated languages than english, and when translated into english only one word was writen yet there could have been 3 different definitions for that very same word in the hebrew or greek. Also, many christians take certain verses and try and make them mean something they want to mean. Many verses are taken out of the context because the subject which is being taught is not taken into consideration. Also, non believers and christians alike need to understand that the kjv bible was translated by man into english from other languages and there could be written mistakes in it, which is pointed out in the 1611 kjv bible(Letter to the reader at the begining of the bible). That is why it is important to refer back to the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts for yourself. This confusion is why there are so many denominations of Christanity, and why non believers have a field day when pointing out verses that contradict each other.
