doesnt matter how torn or where its torn, just thats its torn. yeah its gonna hurt, but depending on your insurance/healthcare provider you could be stoned as fuck through the worst of it. when i had my acl done, they gave me enough hydro to last a week and a half. the other thing they will probably do is run this skinny tube around the area and it will drip novacane for like 4 days so you wont even feel it.
