    Default FREE DOBERMAN

I have this SWEET doberman. he is good with cats, kinds and other dogs, He is a big baby. His ears are cropped and tail cut and just looks perfect. He is also house broken and great with ppl.I am having to move out of my house and into an apt and they are very strict about no dogs, I dont want to take him to the pound. He is aorund 2yrs and named Zepher. This has been a great dog and the movie sterotype about these dogs is all wrong. I also have a all black lab/pitt mix named Ike, he is great to, him and zepher play all the time and play with my son. Also I need to teach him to be a guar dog more, but when someone comes to the door he lets out a very scary bark, I feel very safe when he is around,,

I do really love my dogs. I have been trying to find them homes for the last 2mo. I have not tried very hard because I was hoping something would come up and I wouldn't have to. I tried already to give them to my mother, but she can only take 2 and I have 4. She is taking my 14year old Springer and my 8yr. old English Mastiff. Now I am left with the 6mo. old Lab/Pit and purebred Dobernan.
The Doberman is in no shape or form and aggressive dog. As a matter of fact, I would like him to be more protective. He is just barely 2yrs and I have babied him. He is nothing more than a scary looking lap dog.
Yes, I love my dogs, but now I am desprate. I have also had to get rid of all the other pets so it's not like I am just abandoning them. THIS IS THE REASON I DON'T WANT TO TAKE THEM TO THE SHELTER!. There is a greater likelyhood the Doberman would be euthanized because of his looks.

I would rather not move than to give up my dogs. I don't know your situation, but a shelter would not even be an option simply because you know the chances of euthanasia is so high. Find another place to move

Shots, yes. Papers no, but are you wanting to breed him? You can tell by looking at hime he is full blooded, or take him to any vet and they would tell you the same thing.

If you want him I can give you his full registered name and you can get his papers, or I can get them from AKC myself it will just take a little while.

I might be interested. I was looking for a boxer but if I could come see him and spend a little time with him then I might be able to get him from you.

I'm sure there are Doberman rescue societies around Atlanta that would take him and place him in a home. Taking him to the pound is the dumbest thing you could ever do. I'd rather live in my car with my dogs than give them up or take them to the pound.

I understand life, jobs, apt whatever - but YOU made the choice to take these dogs as your pets, they didn't choose you. Now it's YOUR responsibility as a pet owner to find good homes for them, instead of dumping them in a pound where they'll more than likely be killed because your life doesn't fit with them.

I'm sure you're a nice person, but I hope he finds a better home with someone who will treat him as part of the family, not something to get dumped off whenever the going gets tough.

Here are some links for rescue organizations who deal with Dobermans. They are usually private houses that will take your dog and place him with a family. They NEVER put dogs down and are careful about who takes their dogs.

Your dog is family. If you can't take him with you and you have no other options - you don't dump him off at the pound.

O gez, never said I WANTED to dump him off at the pound. I have until the 12th to find him a home, I emailed some rescues but sometimes they take forever to respond.

well y do you think he is trying to find a good home. do you think he want to take him to the pound. nobody wants to. but you have to put your kids and wife before a animal. i know that they are like family.mine are to me but if came down to my kids or my pets my kids would come first.

Heres a link to some Atlanta area Doberman pinscher rescues. I would bet they do not euthanize and they are already very familiar with the breed. Much better option than a normal pound.

I have had 2 responses from rescues. I cannot take the chance of quitting my job and losing everything I have... I would have to take him to the pound if I became homeless because I chose the dogs over a job.
