people take the bible too straight forward.
the bible shouldnt be taken word for word, there are hidden "meanings" in the verses.
for example : rest on the sabbath; i forget where i read this, but there was a story about bible-nerds, who took it for word by word and didnt rescue a drowning man, even though they saw him drown to death.
jesus of course, said that wasnt the way, etc. etc. (forgot what he said)
so, think before you read a verse and act it out the same way as it is told.
old testaments = eye for an eye. new testaments = if you are slapped on the right cheek, offer the left. (even though that doesnt really connect with this question)
stealing, usually means taking for your own personal benefit.
if you, "stole" drugs from your family member to keep them from going down the wrong path, i'd have to say, that was the right decision.
you can always ask for forgiveness and pray...
thats why jesus died on the cross
