I'd say first make sure your PC is fully updated by opening Internet Explorer and going to Tools>Windows Update and following the instructions. Also check in the Event Viewer for any alarming events that may have occured at the exact time (computer's time) that the "error has occured" window pops up. Do this by going to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and looking through each of the three folders. This will help us to narrow down what is causing your problem.
