    Default Tips on gaining weight and keeping it

    Ok, due to my all mighty metabolism, I can't gain weight for shit. I mean I heard some ways on gaining it and building muscle at the same time. I weight 125 pounds and 5'10 tall. My eating habits isn't very tolerate. Can't eat much for some reason. Tips would greatly help on gaining weight and building muscle. My goal is 150. Not asking very much. Just want REAL results.

    If you want to gain weight you have to eat, there is no other way around it. Even if you wated to take steroids you would wtill have to eat big. You can go to the gym and you will put on a few pounds but without enough food you body will gain very very slowly. I could go on all day about this but I don't have time right now. Train yourself to eat. Slowly eating more and more each week. When you work out your appetite will increase as well, since oyur body will require more.

    yeh dude, I have the same damn problem, high metabolism, shit sucks, I've weighed about 125-130 for over 6 years now.....

    two words : ramen noodles. i went from 119 wrestling weight to 180 in like 2 years. lol. after getting my new job im back down to 155-160

    well when I was referring to not eating much, I meant lately. Sorry. But yea, USUALLY I can eat a very large amount. I can stay at a buffet for 4 hour straight eating on a good day. I would gain 5 pounds for the day then lose throughout the day. Fuck hate being skinny.

    ramen noodles dont work as much as I want it to. But it does have an affect. I would like to have somewhat of a healthy body. thanks tho.

    one of the most important things is WHEN and WHAT you eat. Always make sure to get a high ammount of protien within about 15-20 minutes after you are done working out. YOu should never work out for more than an hour because your body begins to use up your muscle mass for energy. Also,for most it's not a good idea to work out any body area more than once every 5-7 days. Try to eat snacks like peanuts, peanut butter, cottage cheese, chicken, and things like that. Try to get in 5 decent meals every day. Like was said earlier, the more you work out the more apetite you will have and the more you'll be able to eat... If you're trying to gain wait, don't do too much aerobic for too long. You'll want to do some to get your heart rate up before you work out but much more than 10 minutes will trim you down. Try lifting higher weights doing less as apposed to lighter weights doing more reps.

    Try something like 5 sets doing reps like 10, 8, 6, 6, 6 and on the last set you will want to strugle on the last 3 or so. Try increasing your weight each set by 5 or so lbs each...

    I've done a ton of reading and research on gaining weight and working out so if you have any other qeustions let me know...

    im 6'3 and i weigh 160 pounds but cuz im so tall i look like a fucking stick, especially in my damn arms

    Actually, you have about an hour window after working out to take in protein. Also, you body cannot really assimilate more than 35-40 grams all at once, so anything more will just be waste.

    I went from 180/190 to about 220 in a matter of months from lifting and protein. My caloric intake was pretty damn high though (3000+ calories a day and probably much more) but I've cut back significantly.

    Also look into creatine, if you're new to lifting you may see a nice difference in a matter of weeks.

    K now I am somewhat like this guy... everyone that knows me knows i eat tons, yes not regularly but i eat alot within each day, junk food and all. I had a new years goal to be 100lbs, faught and faught and got to 98 and now back down to 92. I do not like how i look, feel and how i can get sick so easily like this. I refuse to take those weight gaining meds that are on commercials either because they tear my body apart in the process. anything I can do. cause its becoming the weather i go and run alot and when like this its kinda pointless to even run cause i do not have anything to "build" on me.

    Then go to the site I listed and follow it RELIGIOUSLY, you WILL gain weight sir... I promise. if you are not eating "something" every 3 hours then you are wrong. Also cell-tech/nitro-tech will not tear your body up... you are juist giving yourself a helping hand. Just like in the car game, you gotta pay to play... but it's worth it.

    i am not a sir I am a girl. and i will check it out. but cannot garauntee things will work, been like this since middle school and doctors put me on a medicationthat slows my metabolism down, it has yet to effect me nor help me gain a pound.

    nope been there done that, had a membership, trainer and all, stayed 96-98 lbs for a year. but now with some stress, and a few other things within a week dropped to 92... but i do exersize regularly and eat atleast 3 meals, not all the same times daily due to work and all that but i do eat the proper amount. a good friend said to eat faster when i start, so that i do not notice i am eatting alot more. tried it and got full alot faster and actually could not eat as much as eatting normal pace.

    don't get sick! fo' real! I was nearing my heaviest ever and I got ill bout' 2 wks ago and lost a great deal. I still feel kinda krappy but that's b/c I sat on my ass for 10 days!!!
    so if you see someone coughing or looking sick just stay away or you might lose all of your progress.

    i dont think so.. my metabolism gets even faster than what it is when i eat like that.

    i'm about 5'10 and swinging in the 135-140 zone at any given day.

    eating more frequently, quickens my metabolism even more for me.. or is just me feeling that way?
    i ate almost every 5hrs before when i was really "eating", all my stomach did was growl at me more frequently.. gradually went down from 5 to 4 to 3hrs..

    or.. is digesting and metabolism different thing?
    i'd think they are correlated since faster you digest.. faster your metabolism is..

    correct me if im wrong.

    well lets figure out something new... cause i actually dropped and am not doing well... doctors gave some pointers... that i cant work wtih really... but now down to dead even 90 lbs. and to the people that "think" they are fat and want to be skinny... yeah you dont!

    yeah my metabolism sucks ass to i cant break 115 and i eat like a damn horse. its cool though just makes it that much easier to get up on the wakeboard being light

    i have fast metabolism also ..
    when i was working out my max weight was 150's that was when i was 20 ..
    all i did was eat my 4 meals and in between eat peanut butter from the jar ..
    did me pretty good when i was working out ..
    now im 130's not working out and just bumming out ..
    cant do shit since my hand was broken for quite awhile ..
    hopefully i can get back into training ..
    ive recently just started to use free weights and just curl ..
    and do some pull ups and push ups ..

    take ur self to gmc get some protein pills n dont exercise n eat lots of protein not exercise buy ur self like 3 big macs combos n eat n u will get big

    i got the same problem.

    i eat a fucking ton. im usually the person at lunch or whatever that eats the most.

    but i have such a fast metabolism and its so hard to gain weight.

    the only way to gain real weight is to workout at least 3 times a week. in addition, you should take some protein supplements and eat alot of meat. meat should be the main part of your diet. i usually eat alot of chicken and roast beef since they are pretty low in cholesterol and fat. i can't eat that much either, but i eat 5 small meals a day. i'm 5'10'' and 155-160 lbs. i workout at the UGA ramsey center at least 3 times a week. i do a 1 hour workout and 1 hour swim or 1 hour run. if you get a workout partner that's very dedicated, you will get in shape fast. so i basically workout like 6 hours a week in addition to my hip-hop dance practice, which is 6 hours a week, so i get 3 hours of weights along with 9 hours of cardio exercise. i started working out in february and i already have developed a full 8-pack. this is all thanks to my roommate who keeps me motivated through intense workouts.

    i was aout to write that i cant gain weight til i realized i gained a shit load.

    in 11th grade i weighted 95 pounds playing varsity football. cornerback bitchiz!!
    i used to eat pb and j, ice cream, meat, peanuts, weight gainer 1800 (weight gainer 2000 bc i didnt see ne gain), 4 or 5 full meals a day and wrkd out. ive always had a high metabolife <- . Ive weighed the same since senior year and i usually lose a pound or 2 and gain it back but i cant gain ne more.

    im gonan do all this again and try to get to like 180 and see if it wrk. IM GONNA BE SCARY HUGE!!! LOL!!

    im just gonna start taking peanut butter sandwiches to work with me and eat the fuck out of them. lol never really tried to eat anything that would help me gain weight. I just eat whatever i feel like at the time. I usually get bored with my food and can't eat it all unless its mashed potatoes (that shit is good)

    High carbs, high protein.... this is when you are trying to put on alot of body mass over a set period of time. You will gain alot of muscle mass from this type of diet as the body has a surplus of protein/carbs in order to grow new muscle tissue. However, the body tends to store more fat on this diet because of the added surplus so expect to gain a few inches on your waist and lose muscle definition.
    When i was bulking (for 9months), i was taking in around 400g protein and 500g of carbs. I went form 165lbs to 210lbs (clean)... I put on a few inches round my waist etc, but i had the muscle mass i wanted.
