well, this is what my dad's making with aquariums and other stuff for commercial/retail..
i was wondering how much someone would pay for something like this:
(of course, in the pic, this isnt complete. roughly 4.5ft long, 3.5ft high, and 7" wide)

babowc: looks all flashy and stuff, but kinda just reminds me of a fishtank with a blue cathode and bubble curtian... all in all.... 30 bucks if i were to make it. i could see maybe a few people buying them but i don't see a huge market for it. market now a days is more towads micro electronics.

I'm with him. Anything in three digits would be asking too much. I could see these being kinda popular in places like Hot-Topic or other such stores.

Question, on the finished product, can you see the bulb? If so, then it'd be way too bright. I figured that it has the bulb hidden in a top mounted case that shines down. It would make one hell of a night-light. Kind of like a bubbly lavalamp...without the lava. Either way, post a pic of the finished product. It seems promising.

the light is shone (is this a word) from the bottom up.
we debated using series of leds but we had no way to come up with making that wire into the 110v socket w.o getting a bit expensive.
