Has anyone had their tonsil's taken out?? Mine have been bothering me for the past few weeks, and ive been on and off perscriptions. I might have to have them taken out, how long does it take to recover, and does it hurt??

Has anyone had their tonsil's taken out?? Mine have been bothering me for the past few weeks, and ive been on and off perscriptions. I might have to have them taken out, how long does it take to recover, and does it hurt??
I had them taken out about 16 years ago. They did hurt and I couldn't eat solid food for weeks.
