So you already applied to UGA as a senior in hs?I assume you fulfilled all your pre-reqs (which takes 2 years or ~60+hrs) through dual enrollment or AP classes? But I'm not 100% sure if UGA will allow that many AP classes. There are many schools that recruit hs seniors, which would be a total of 6 years to get the PharmD. I honestly don't know of any PharmD candidates being admitted straight out of hs. That's not to say other schools don't b/c I know they do, but I've never heard of Mercer or UGA following that practice. Now, South might do it but they are a 3 year program. UGA is extremely competitive even if you have a 3.7 gpa and 90th percentile PCAT. Where are you getting that it takes 12-15 years to finish? Obviously you haven't researched enough. If you don't work in a pharmacy at least volunteer at one so you can shadow a Pharm. It's not a pre-req for acceptance to pharm. school but at least the ad com's know you have researched your chosen field and know what it's all about. IMHO, I think hs students would fail at the interview with the ad com. The average age of a PS1 is 26 y/o, meaning they have some college education and can handle themselves in a professional manner. Applying to pharm schools takes time and money. There are plenty of qualified candidates wait-listed who have tons of pharmacy experience/education. I suggest you work towards a BA and continue to apply to several different schools. Again, I strongly suggest you get at least a pt job in a pharmacy. GL.
