If windows isn't seeing the drive, then you may need to go to Dell's website and get the device drivers for it. Just a guess though

It can see it. But when I tired to install the Easy CD Creator 5 the software said it wasnt compatable with the version of Windows I have ( Which is odd vcause I had it loaded on my HP latop that had XP home also ) so I guess the version I have has a few changes in it, so I tried to install it anyways and when I did and tried to burn the software didnt see a burner. But when I go to MY COMPUTER and look, Windows names the drive as a CDR/DVD drive, so it does see the drive and I have played DVD's on it and used the CD drive to install so the laptop knows its there, The CDR side of it just has no software to run it now.Originally Posted by threehundred
