Is the ipod video able to play avi files.

That place only converts avi or mp4 to cell phone video. It's not what you need.

Google it again. There are a few programs taht can do it.

get Videora, it converts all movies to Mp4, it's made for the ipod.

That's the one I've been messing with. I converted a few DVDs with it as well.

Ive got a video ipod, and the weirdest thing is that it doesn't even play apple's own .mov standard. how dumb is that?

There's another thread in here about them and Spyder put up the name of a program that you can just click and drag and it converts. Might be the one Imbosile just posted, not sure though.
