Here's the only thing I'll add since I don't get into all the "profiling" stuff.

Traffic cops are just that, traffic cops. Police folks are designated to certain duties and they can't just venture off into other duties from that (unless, of course, it's a major ordeal going down). A crime is a crime no matter what it is. That's pretty much it. So I can think of at least one actual crime that was going on while you were pulled over.....
