So this was found and killed at Bears Best golf course in the Sugarloaf area. Tell me what you think it is. The snakes head is at the end of the shovel.

Pictures make it look like a cobra but can't be unless someones pet got loose cause cobras are not in this region. I would think its more like a Hognose snake it does this or any other genus Heterodon, elapidae family snakes mimic with Hoods like the Cobra.
Looks like something I would not want to fuck with!
Hella stock member!
Yeah were were tihnking Cobra and wondering how the hell it got there. The guy that killed it is planning on taking it somewhere to see if it actually a Cobra. I wouldn't thing that you could have a Cobra as a pet here.

Lots of ppl have cobras as pets hell ive seen spitting Cobras kept as pets. I used to go to a snake store for feeder rats and they lost a Cobra when it got loose i don't think they ever found it. The pattern on its hood doesn't look familiar but like i said a lot of snakes mimic a cobra for intimidation.
Ive never seen a Cobra yet that didnt have a pattern/Design on its hood like a diamond or circles. Hope they find out what it is..
Hopefully its something venomous or you just broke the law killing it lol. I kept finding this stuff when looking for snake pictures, i think its b.s., all snakes should die.
In Georgia it is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a $1,000 fine and a year in jail to possess or kill many of nongame wildlife species, including non-venomous snakes (O.C.G.A. §27-1-28).
As they already stated, it looks like an Eastern Hognose. "Although this species has large rear fangs and a mild venom, it is considered harmless to humans." I'd delete this thread so hopefully no fines show up...

I didn't kill it so I could care less who see's the thread. Thanks for clearing up what kind it was. I don't know jack about snakes and we were all curious about it.
